Jazz is pretty cool, right? But the specific term "cool jazz" refers to a subset of jazz music.

Jazz is a musical art form which originated in the New Orleans by the year 1920.

1920's jazz is a period of golden era. The year 1920 is also known as the Jazz era as it was in this period of time people starting getting crazy about music.

The name cool was given by the group due to the modest or restrained feeling of the music created by Miles Davis. They confirmed that cool jazz did not have roughness or thickness for the tone.
